| Active Dental understands that the loss of your tooth can have a significant impact on the well-being of your mouth and how you feel about yourself. Dental implants can restore your mouth to ideal health by replacing those missing teeth helping you to be able to chew your food easily and improve your smile.
Dental implants follow straightforward principles regardless of the patient or the exact demand of the implant. Each implant has two stages, the fixture and the restoration. The fixture is made of titanium and it is fixed into the bone where the root of the missing tooth was. The restoration is then attached to the fixture above the gum and takes the shape of a tooth.
Stage 1: Fixtures are surgically inserted directly into the jawbone, acting as an anchor for replacement teeth such as crowns and veneers. Over time the jawbone will attach itself to the Implant, enabling replacement teeth to be permanently fastened into place. This fixture will be very sturdy and often lasts for a lifetime with proper care and visits to your dentist.
Stage 2: Restorations have improved greatly over the last few years with tooth coloured restorations creating natural looking teeth and hiding the fact that previously no tooth existed there. Ceramic and porcelain restoration are not commonplace and can be completed in one appointment with CEREC technology.
CEREC is a superior method of creating precisely designed, colour-matched and highly durable ceramic restorations is available directly from our practice in one appointment. CEREC, and other tooth coloured restorations can be attached directly onto an implant fixture to create the perfect smile.
